Funding Allocated to Investigate Coachford Flooding

I’m really pleased that we’re finally on the way to sorting out the flooding problem near Aghabullogue GAA Club in Coachford Village.

I explained the problem to Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, Patrick O’Donovan, and he could see that a solution was urgently needed. Now he has announced the approval of Cork County Council’s application for funding under the Office of Public Works’ Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme. Under the scheme, the Office of Public Works (OPW) has approved funding of €36,000 for proposed works, which will include a Flood Scoping Report to investigate the causes of flooding in the area and the preferred flood relief options to be initiated.
